garden moodboard - may 2014

Hello! I'm checking in with my monthly moodboard for May, better late than not at all! The garden in bursting right now, I'm finding it hard keeping up with all the deadheading, there are just so many flowers!

In other news, I'm still trying to get my little online shop open. It's coming along, I'm just finding it hard to sit myself down in front of the screen when I come in from work. All I want is to explore the garden, checking for new growth and watering our precious plants on the way. Of course it's nice too sitting out enjoying the milder air, light evenings and relaxing by the heat of the BBQ!

And I've some exciting news to share, but that deserves a post all of it's own...

[Each month I join Karin and Åsa in this series of monthly moodboards].

looking at the garden

I took these images of our garden a few weeks back, in love with the vivid hues around at the time. Of course these flowers have mostly faded now, the garden changes so quickly, the bright oranges of early May have withered to be replaced by other colours and shades. As I look around the garden I see plants that work together, others that don't, plants I'd like to move, plants I wish would multiply, others I need to tame. I can't stop looking, learning and planning, this garden excites me so much!

lately

A little bit of green from our garden and elsewhere. We can't keep ourselves out of the garden lately. Every evening we potter about outside, a mix of jobs and a little relaxation - it's feels so good!

  • as I wait for the train, I can't help but look up at the vivid green of the trees
  • our garden is bursting with life and colour, a new plant seems to be showing off every day
  • each of our beds has a different colour theme
  • how sweet is this aricula theatre at the Geffrye Museum
  • serious fern envy, in the garden of the Geffrye Museum
  • back in our garden
